Elon Wind Ensemble concert set for May 10

The Elon University Wind Ensemble will hold its annual spring concert at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 10 in McCrary Theatre, located in the Center for the Arts on campus. The concert is free and open to the public.

The concert will feature songs that feature America, including marches from the late 19th and early 20th centuries by John Philip Sousa and Henry Fillmore. Selections include Sousa’s “The Thunderer,” Fillmore’s “Americans We,” and Joseph Jenkins’ “American Overture for Band.” Other composers who will be featured include Jack Stamp, Charles Ives, Ira Hearshen and David Holsinger.
