Spring athletes named to SoCon academic squads

Phoenix teams placed 27 student-athletes on the Southern Conference TIAA-CREF Spring Academic All-Conference teams, announced May 19.

To be eligible, students must have at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average, be at least of sophomore standing and have competed in at least half of their team’s games, matches or competitions during the spring.

A total of 229 student-athletes from conference schools made the list. Elon’s total of 27 athletes recognized was surpassed only by Furman (34) and Appalachian State (28).
