Jeffrey Coker, assistant professor of biology, has been awarded the 2005 North Carolina State University Graduate School Dissertation Award, known as the Pollock Award, for his 2004 dissertation which involved tomato genetics, analysis of DNA sequence data, and educational research. The award is “designed to reward outstanding scholarly research that has a positive impact on both the North Carolina economy and the quality of life for all its citizens.”
