Ihrie, Lunsford present at international teachers meeting

Maureen Ihrie and Ernie Lunsford presented “Making Connections: Social Commentary, Pop Music and High Tech” at the annual international meeting of the American Association of Techers of Spanish and Portuguese in New York City on July 31. This multimedia project combines music, images and a variety of online activities appropriate for Spanish language, culture and civilization courses. The project addresses multiple learning styles and offers targeted practice of specific language skills–including listening comprehension, pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar–while exposing students to the acerbic observations of Latin American singing superstar Ricardo Arjona in his well-known song “Noticiero” (“Newscast”). This project was developed with the technical assistance of Scott Windham and Deborah Ellington.
