WSOE hosts second annual Jingle Bell Rock

WSOE, Elon's student radio station hosted its second annual Jingle Bell Rock Friday, Dec. 7 in Moseley Center.

Seventy youngsters from the YMCA and Bynum Youth Center in Burlington participated in the event, which is designed to give underprivileged children a chance to celebrate Christmas.

Radio station staff members led students in activities including card making and ornament decorating. Elon staff members Bryan Baker and Jodi Emond read Christmas stories to the children. Santa Claus made a special visit as well.

Local businesses provided Christmas trees, food, coloring books and crayons. Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity donated toys for the children.

“This is just one way WSOE hopes to give back to the community for all the support we have received over the years,” WSOE General Manager Jessica Vitak said.

Founded in 1978, WSOE broadcasts 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.
