Practice drills featured in several books by Jerry Tolley, director of annual giving, have been reprinted in the July 2005 edition of Football Coach Magazine.
Drills from Nick Saban (LSU/Miami Dolphins), Pete Carroll (Southern California) and Bobby Bowden (Florida State) appeared in the magazine after first being featured in one of Tolley’s four football drill books. The drills, emphasizing fundamentals on both offense and defense, highlight major coaching points, safety considerations and diagrams.
Tolley’s most recent drill book, “The Complete Book of Offensive Football Drills,” was published in 2005. Tolley served as Elon’s head football coach from 1977 to 1981, winning NAIA national championships in 1980 and 1981.
