L’Orchestre de Chambre Français in concert at Elon, March 30

L’Orchestre de Chambre Français, acclaimed as one of France’s best chamber orchestras, will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, March 30 in Whitley Auditorium on the Elon campus.

Based in Senlis, north of Paris, L’Orchestre de Chambre Français has been performing since 1989. Its talented instrumentalists are keen string quartet players, equally comfortable with baroque, classical, romantic and contemporary music. The orchestra has performed extensively in Paris and frequently appears in Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, England and the Czech Republic.

The ensemble made its U.S. debut at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center and returned in 2003 to tour the East Coast. The orchestra’s 2005 tour of the U.S. concluded with a performance in front of a capacity crowd at the National Gallery.

Tickets for the concert are $12 or free for those with valid Elon identification. Tickets may be purchased at the McCrary Theatre box office at (336) 278-5610. The box office is open from 12:30 p.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday.
