Sharon LaRocco, pianist and instructor of music, and Lisbeth Carter, adjunct professor of voice, held masterclasses in The Performance of Musical Theatre Music at Universitat fur Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Graz, Austria Jan. 30-Feb. 1.
LaRocco and Carter worked with talented classical students from mostly Eastern European countries, most of whom are studying opera and oratorio singing. Learning about other forms of music will enhance the students’ job opportunities.
This is the second time LaRocco and Carter have held masterclasses at the university. Students requested that the pair be invited to return after responding positively to their first visit 18 months ago.
