On April 28, L. D. Russell presented his ongoing research on the relationship of religion and stock car racing at a meeting of the Southern Historians of the Piedmont, which includes scholars from Elon, High Point University, Pfeiffer University, UNC Greensboro, UNC Chapel Hill, and Wake Forest University, who share an interest in research and scholarship on all aspects of the American South.
