Pianist Oppens to perform Mozart, Schubert works during Oct. 19 concert

Pianist Ursula Oppens will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19 in Whitley Auditorium. This event is part of the Adams Foundation Piano Recital Series sponsored by the Burlington Times-News and Elon University.

Oppens has performed with many of the world’s top orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony, Boston Symphony and Cleveland Symphony. Her program will include works by Mozart, Schubert and Chopin as well as a work written for her by the American composer Frederic Rzewski.

Tickets for the performance are $15 or free for those with Elon identification. Tickets may be purchased at the McCrary Theatre box office at (336) 278-5610. The box office is open from 12:30 p.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday.
