High school students learn about legal careers during seminar

More than 90 high school students from surrounding counties participated in a conference hosted by the N.C. Bar Association in McKinnon Hall Friday, Oct. 27. The Fall High School Law Career Conference is sponsored by the association’s Minorities in the Profession committee and is designed to introduce high school students to the variety of careers available to them in the legal profession.

The semi-annual conference features presentations and panel discussions from judges, attorneys and others in the field of law. The presentations offer advice for high school students who are interested in attending law school and pursuing careers in the law.

District Court Judge Herbert L. Richardson of Judicial District 16-B in Robeson County and Lumberton delivered the keynote address. Alan Woodlief, associate dean of the Elon School of Law, and Greg Zaiser, dean of admissions at Elon, welcomed the students to campus.
