Library staff edit publications, chosen for leadership roles

Katie Nash, archivist and special collections librarian, has two book reviews in print. She reviewed “The NextGen Librarian’s Survival Guide” by Rachel Singer Gorden in the November 2006 issue of College & Research Libraries, and “Encoded Archival Description on the Internet” edited by Pitti and Duff in the Journal of the Association for history and computing, October 2006 issue.

Kate Hickey, director of Belk Library, has been elected to national office as secretary of the College Libraries Section of the American Library Association. She also has been appointed by Dr. A. Hope Williams, president of NCICU (North Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities), as the group’s representative to the Governing Board of NC-LIVE, North Carolina’s virtual library.
