Students display interactive science exhibits

Students in a General
Studies course taught by Crista Arangala, associate professor of mathematics,
displayed interactive science exhibits they made for the class on Tuesday, Dec.
5.

 In the course, titled
Interactive Science Museum Exhibits, students learn a variety of ways to
develop exhibits for elementary and middle school aged students that
demonstrate a scientific principle or theory. The exhibits included a pump that
moved water between two buckets, illustrating the work of the human heart; a
pendulum with dripping paint to illustrate the various patterns created by its
motion; and a water spinner that demonstrated the principle of centripetal
force.
