Das serves on panel, publishes chapter

Pranab Das, professor of physics, served on a panel titled “Time to Get Religion? – Political, Professional & Personal Dimensions of America’s ‘Revival’” at this year’s Renaissance Weekend in Charleston, S.C. Other panelists included Gov. Howard Dean, best-selling authors Jim Wallis and Phillip Yancey and Nobel Laureate Bill Phillips. Das also served on and moderated a number of other sessions on topics ranging from the scientific “mysteries of the universe” to philanthropy and “giving that transforms” and the history of the longstanding debates in science and religion.
 
He has also published a chapter titled “Emergence, Discovery and Platonic Perspectives on Complex Systems” in Science and Orthodoxy, a Necessary Dialogue, Nicolescu and Stavinschi eds. Curtea Veche, Bucharest, 2006.
