After the ninth week of competition, Elon is in 69th place out of 174 schools in he Per Capita division, down 2 spots from last week. Elon is 7th out of 25 Southern schools in the contest.
During Week 8, Elon collected a total of 7,500 pounds, and has recycled more than 86,000 pounds of material during the contest.
In the targeted materials-cardboard category for Week 9, Elon is 41 out of 102 schools and 5th out of 18 Southern schools.
In the targeted materials-aluminum, plastic and glass category, Elon is 27th out of 110 schools and ranks first in the state.
Results for Week 10, the final week of the competition, are currently being tallied and will be posted April 16. Even thought the competition is over, continue to do your part to help make recycling a way of life on the Elon campus! Look for the containers with green lids throughout campus and toss your cans and bottles in! Paper should go in containers with blue lids.
