More than 200 athletes participated in the Special Olympics Spring Games Thursday, April 19 at Elon’s North Athletics complex. The event was staffed by more than 240 volunteers from Elon as well as area schools and the local community. The athletes represented a variety of schools and agencies in Alamance County.
Events included:
• 25, 50, 100-meter walks and runs
• Softball throw
• Bat for distance
• Base run
• Standing long jump
• Tennis ball throw
• Wheelchair events
• Motor activities
• Clinics (table tennis, basketball, cheerleading, soccer, clown, massage, parachute games)
