Carol A. Smith, associate professor of physical education & health (Health & Human Performance), co-presented a poster session at the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation & Dance (AAHPERD), April 13-17. She co-presented with Linda Hinkle, physical education specialist at Shady Grove Elementary School. Their presentation was titled “Scottish Highland Games in the Piedmont of North Carolina.” This session tied together the Scottish highland games and the Standard Course of Study for a multitude of subjects (history, math, music and dance, to name just a few). The poster was part of the socio-cultural component of the research consortium session at AAHPERD.
