Gabie Smith and Maureen Vandermaas-Peeler recently presented at the Teaching Institute for the Association for Psychological Science convention. Their joint paper, “Teaching abroad: Assessing student expectations and faculty best practices,” summarized data on students’ perceptions of academic growth, personal growth, and cultural awareness during short term and semester length study abroad experiences. The paper also provided resources for psychology faculty interested in designing their own study abroad course.
