This summer, Instructional and Campus Technologies will be upgrading campus users to the latest version of Microsoft Office. New computers delivered this summer will have the new version of MS Office already installed. Beginning July 2, all faculty, staff, and returning students will have the opportunity to download MS Office 2007 from http://org.elon.edu/office2007. New students will receive a copy of MS Office 2007 in the mail. Our goal is to slowly migrate users voluntarily to the new version by the opening of school. In September, all faculty and staff will be automatically upgraded to the new version.
If you choose not to upgrade to MS Office 2007 immediately, you may experience some incompatibilities between versions. You can download a Compatibility Pack that will allow MS Office 2003 users to open files created in MS Office 2007. You can download the Compatibility Pack from Microsoft at http://org.elon.edu/office2007.
The latest version, 2007, looks very different than the current version of MS Office. In order to keep you up and running, Instructional Technologies offers three support options for MS Office 2007.
