Elon has created a Young Alumni Council that will foster deeper
connections between young alumni and the university. The new council
will advise the Office of Alumni Relations and the university on
programming and communication with young alums and current students.
Young alumni, defined as graduates of the past 10 years, comprise 41
percent of all Elon graduates.
Council members will be responsible for planning young alumni
activities at Homecoming and with local chapters, as well as
programming for seniors, young alumni giving and assisting with Alumni
Leadership Day in spring 2008.
The council’s first meeting will take place at the on-campus Alumni
Summit Oct. 25-26, when council leaders will be elected. This is the
first council in Elon’s history to be comprised solely of young alumni.
