Paula Weller attends accounting summit

Paula Weller, lecturer in the Department of Accounting and Finance, and accounting student Wendy Stahl attended the Lean Accounting Summit in Orlando, Florida September 27- 28. The sponsor of the Summit, the Association of Manufacturing Excellence, awarded a faculty-student scholarship to them to attend sessions on the application of lean accounting and to discuss with other faculty/student teams the use of lean accounting topics in the classroom. Weller’s unique approach to lean accounting in the classroom was based upon the use of a lean accounting novel for students to experience the issues and personal challenges of implementing lean accounting.
