Debate Hosted By Phi Alpha Delta A Success!

Phi Alpha Delta Executive Board, three serving as judges, one as a time keeper and one as a moderator
On Nov. 7, Elon University’s Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta hosted the first annual campus-wide debate, “Fire It Up with Phi Alpha Delta”.
Phi Alpha Delta is Elon’s undergraduate Pre-Law Fraternity, and it hosted the debate held between College Republicans and College Democrats. Each team had two debaters that debated over the best policy to deal with illegal immigration (to deal with those already here illegally and those wishing to enter illegally). The audience consisted of members of College Republicans, College Democrats and Phi Alpha Delta as well as the advisers for some of these organizations.

After a heated debate, the College Democrats team took home the trophy and two debaters took home gift cards to award their overall preparedness and most realistic policy proposal. Three executive board members of Phi Alpha Delta were the judges, and two board members served as the moderator and time keeper.

A special recognition and thanks goes out to the debaters and audience members for their participation in this event. Phi Alpha Delta looks forward to the second annual Fire It Up Debate, and we look forward to seeing you there!

Phi Alpha Delta holds its chapter meetings bi-monthly at 7:30 PM in Gray Pavilion. If interested in attending a meeting please contact the chapter’s President, Amanda Tauber, at ATauber@elon.edu .
