Dr. Maureen Vandermaas-Peeler will serve as the next Director of the Elon Honors Program, beginning with the 2008-09 academic year. Dr. Vandermaas-Peeler came to Elon in 1995 from the University of the South. She received her BA from Wake Forest University and her MS and PhD degrees from North Carolina State University. Dr. Vandermaas-Peeler has been actively engaged with the Honors Program for many years. She has taught honors courses, most recently the freshman seminar “Childhood and Cultural Context.” She has mentored a number of honors students and has served on the Honors Advisory Board.
