Dance majors presenting at ACDFA

Autumn Welt, a senior dance major, is presenting her solo “Threading the Needle” at the Informal Concert at the American College Dance Festival this week at Goucher Gollege.  Autumn’s solo was created from her SURE experience investigating abstract choreographic theory with Professor Lauren Kearns.  Autumn will be presenting her research at NCUR in April.


Allie Lochary, a junior dance major, is presenting her duet “Indeterminate State” at the Adjudication Concert at ACFA.  Rachel Teem, a junior dance major is dancing with Lochary.  Sophomore dance major Rachel Perlman is presenting her solo “Distortion” at the Adjudication Concert with freshmen dance major Kara Griffin performing.  Both pieces are in contention for the National Gala performance to be performed this summer in New York.

In addition to these students, 40 dance majors are attending the conference taking master classes from national and international artists as well as attending career seminars.
