POWER Less Energy Competition – Week 4

Organizers of a campus energy conservation contest have noticed greater reductions in power use as more students learn of the event. Thirty-one of 40 buildings showed energy reduction for Week 4 of the competition.

That number is down two from last week, but the energy reductions for the 31 buildings were greater than at any point of the contest to date.

“This means that more participation in each building is occurring as the word spreads,” said Paul Holt, maintenance control manager at Elon University.

The top building of the week is Academic Village-Cannon at 22% reduction.
