National Library Week promotes “circle of knowledge”

Elon University celebrates National Library Week from April 13-19, 2008, with chances for the campus community to win books of their choice just by stopping by the Belk Library.

New READ posters featuring Elon faculty, staff and student government leaders will also be on display around the center atrium. Philosophy professor Anthony Weston, program assistant Janice Ratliff, and SGA officers Rob Saunders, John Bateman, Cassie Hickey and Chase Rumley posed for the advertisements.

The theme for the week: “Join the circle of knowledge @ your library.”

Elon students and employees are encouraged to visit the library and win a book of their choice simply by entering their name in a drawing. Two winners are selected each day, and at the end of the week, a grand prize drawing will be held, with the winner receiving a $50 gift card to Barnes & Noble.

National Library Workers Day, a time to celebrate and show appreciation for people who work in libraries, takes place April 15.
