Rep. Alice Bordsen to speak at Elon on May 1

State Rep. Alice Bordsen will visit Elon Thursday, May 1, to visit with students and discuss the work of the state legislature. Her talk, sponsored by the political science department, will take place at 7:30 p.m. in Yeager Recital Hall.

Bordsen will explain what she does as a member of the General Assembly and take a look at some of the issues on the horizon in state politics and policy. She sits on several important committees and chairs the Committee on Juvenile Justice. Bordsen has worked on issues ranging from the aging population to community colleges.

 
Bordsen represents the 63rd district, encompassing the eastern part of Alamance County. First elected in 2002, she has received recognition statewide for her work on criminal justice, health care and education.
