Lauren Kearns, Assistant Professor of Dance and Coordinator of the Dance Program, received the 2008 NC Dance Alliance Choreography Fellowship.

The fellowship provides what contemporary dance artists are often lacking – the appropriate creative incubation time and financial support to conceptualize a major new work.  Kearns will use the fellowship to choreograph The Neighborhood Project, a full-length dance that she will set on her professional dance company, the kearns dance project.  The Neighborhood Project will headline the NCDA Annual Event in October.
