Elon Baseball NCAA selection show viewing party – Monday, May 26

Elon University Athletics today announced that it will hold a viewing party of the 2008 NCAA Baseball Selection Show at The Cutting Board located at 2699 Ramada Road in Burlington on Monday, May 26.

Fans are invited
to come out and join the team to watch the selections of the 2008
tournament field, which could include the 2008 Southern Conference
champion Phoenix.  The selections will be aired live on ESPN beginning
at 12:30 p.m.

This
year, Elon captured its second regular season SoCon title in three
seasons and boasts an overall record of 41-16.  The Phoenix, who
defeated now No. 1 North Carolina by a 2-0 margin earlier this season,
is looking for its third trip to the NCAA Division I national baseball
tournament.  The program has already established new school records for
home runs in a season (74) and runs scored in a year (497).

Elon
has gone 2-0 in the SoCon Tournament and still has hopes of capturing
the league’s automatic bid.  The Phoenix will play at least two more
games at the tournament in Charleston, S.C., including a game at 1 p.m.
Saturday afternoon.
