Vandermast publishes book review in American Scientist

David Vandermast, assistant professor of biology, published a book review in the most recent (July-August) edition of American Scientist, the magazine of Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Society.  Vandermast reviewed a book on the history of the demise and attempts at the restoration of American Chestnut following the introduction of an Asian fungal blight in the early 20th century.  The book, titled “American Chestnut: The Life, Death, and Rebirth of a Perfect Tree”, was written by Susan Freinkel and published in 2007.
