College for Every Student (CFES), a national nonprofit “committed to raising the academic aspirations and performance of
underserved youth so that they can prepare for, gain access to, and
succeed in college,” featured Elon University this week on the organization’s Web site.
The story looks at a partnership between the Elon Academy and Amidon Elementary School in Washington, D.C. Students from Amidon traveled to the university in May for a two-day visit to show the group “that going away to college can be an exciting, life-changing
experience that all young people should have the opportunity to access.”
