“Day With the Phoenix” now accepting applications for coordinators

“Day With the Phoenix”, an organization under the Phoenix Club is now accepting applications/questions for Coordinator positions for the 2008-2009 school year.

During its inaugural year last year, “Day With the Phoenix” was able to plan and execute four field trips to various Elon sporting events for local kids organizations.  On those trips, the kids were able to interact with our Elon student-athletes and see where motivation, priority, and determination could take them in life.

With more Coordinators, more events will be possible and the more established “Day With the Phoenix” will be for future years.

This is a great opportunity for students of the School of Communications (Public Relations in particular) to get real leadership experience in planning and executing their own event.

Requirements for application:

Please submit a 1 page, double-spaced essay explaining why you would be qualified for this position.  This includes, but is not limited to, connections within the athletic department, people and organizational skills and experience with kids.  Essays should be submitted to Kyle Johnson, the founder of “Day With the Phoenix” at kjohnson30@elon.edu by October 1.
