Brown & Co. Grand Opening serves up “serious food for good times”

Brown & Co., a favorite grill and pub from years past, officially reopened today in a celebration awash with old memories and hope for new adventures. The eatery was an Elon favorite for more than 20 years.

The grand opening drew Town of Elon Mayor Jerry Tolley, who
participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony with Gerald Whittington, vice
president for Business, Finance and Technology.

“I am so delighted to have Brown & Co. back in Elon,” Tolley
said.”The biggest endorsement it received in my family was when my two
young boys voted to eat there every Friday night. It is truly an Elon
tradition and an Elon favorite.”

Brown & Co., located in the space formerly occupied
by Cantina Roble, offers the most popular items from the Cantina menu including Wild
Bill’s Blackened Chicken Pasta, the Buffalo Chicken Salad and the
Killer Cookie, while also offering items from the old Brown & Co.
menu suggested by Elon alumni.

“It’s a fusion of what students really loved at two different times,” says Rita Gordish,
ARAMARK District Marketing Manager. “Our hope is alumni will try things
students like now, and students will try things alumni liked then.”

Juniors Brian Pollio and Caroline Ellis stopped by for lunch and
said they were impressed with the changes to decor, lighting and
overall mood.

“I like now that you have choices for both lunch and dinner. It’s
noon and I’m not sitting here ordering chicken parmigan, “Pollio said.
“The menu looks really good.”
