Sign up for Elon Alumni Webinar Series: “Leading An Entrepreneurial Life”

Webinar Series: “Leading An Entrepreneurial Life”
October 28; November 3, 11, 18 – 7:30 – 9 p.m.

Drawing on the book Life Entrepreneurs: Ordinary People Creating Extraordinary Lives (by Christopher Gergen and Gregg Vanourek; Jossey-Bass; March 2008), this provocative and engaging webinar series will help alumni chart their futures by exposing them to the principles of an entrepreneurial life. By applying the principles of entrepreneurship — identifying strengths, setting and meeting goals, and taking measured risks — alumni can gain the skills and direction they need to achieve their personal and professional goals.

This work will also set the foundation for alumni to understand how ideas can be brought to life through entrepreneurial action. Inherent to this pursuit is opportunity recognition, innovation, resourcefulness, risk-taking, adaptive persistence, reflection, and renewal. Webinar activities will include visioning, goal- and strategy-setting, and personal development exercises.

Goals for the Elon webinars are as follows:
Introducing the entrepreneurial mindset to alumni and motivating each participant to create a personalized “Entrepreneurial Life Plan” (ELP);

Showing alumni the wide range of opportunities for social and professional impact in their communities;

Developing a sense of purpose and direction—as well as personal and mutual accountability—among alumni;

Building an additional network of friendship and support among Elon alums.

Overview of the Webinars:

The four-part webinar series will be held on Tuesday, October 28, Monday, November 3, and November 11 and 18 (both Tuesdays). Each webinar will last 90 minutes and run from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Follow-up exercises for alumni to work on in their own time, including the development of a personalized Entrepreneurial Life Plan (ELP);

Outcome: alumni will emerge with a completed ELP and be connected to a community of Elon members who are in a similar stage of academic and personal development. These communities will enable alumni to discuss progress on their ELPs and remain connected to future offerings by Elon.
