Hendrickson elected to Board of Trustees

James A. “Jay” Hendrickson has been elected to the Elon University board of trustees.

Hendrickson graduated with a degree in business administration from Elon in 1971 and is president and chief executive officer of Hendrickson Mechanical Services, Inc., of Raleigh, N.C., a company he founded in 1993.

Hendrickson and wife Amy, a 1969 Elon alumna, are long-time supporters of the university. Both are charter members of the Elon Phoenix Club IMPACT Circle and members of Elon’s Board of Visitors. Amy Hendrickson is chair of the Phoenix Club Advisory Board.

In December 2007, the Hendricksons made a $1 million gift to name the Hendrickson Football Center, planned for Elon’s North Athletics Complex, in honor of Jay’s father, Horace J. Hendrickson, one of Elon’s all-time great coaches.

Hendrickson will be sworn in as a member of the board of trustees at the fall meeting, scheduled for Oct. 10-11.
