Assistant professor Peter Kiwitt in the School of Communications was elected to the Board of North Carolina’s Piedmont Triad Film Commission.

Andrew J. Haile, an assistant professor of law, has had an article published in the ABA Preview of United States Supreme Court Cases about the pending Supreme Court case of Altria Group, Inc. v. Good, which deals with whether the Federal Cigarette Labeling and Advertising Act preempts state law claims against tobacco companies for the use of “descriptors” such as “light” and “lowered tar.”

"Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street," under the direction of Catherine McNeela and choreographed by Linda Sabo, opens Oct. 30 in McCrary Theatre, where the audience will hear the tale of "murderous 'barber'-ism and culinary crime" just in time for Halloween.
