David Noer, the Frank S. Holt Jr. Professor of Business Leadership in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, had his monthly column published Dec. 14, 2008, in the (Greensboro, N.C.) News & Record. "Gifts for 'interesting' times" uses the concept of a holiday gift list to comment on the past election and the economy.
In his column, Noer suggests gifts for local politicians, for concert and theatre patrons, even “for home buyers who fudged their income, colluded with greedy lenders and saw their house as a speculative investment.” (Noer suggested for the last group a lump of coal in their stockings and “wishes for a cold winter.”)
