Andrew Newman, an Elon junior, will attend several events associated with the inauguration of Barack Obama in Washington Jan. 17-21. Newman was selected to participate in the University Presidential Inaugural Conference, an opportunity for alumni of the National Youth Leadership Forum, the Congressional Youth Leadership Council and the International Scholar Laureate Program.
The Conference is comprised of exclusive and private inaugural events
and activities featuring world-renowned keynote speakers and political
experts, as well as public ceremonial events, such as the official
swearing-in ceremony and the inaugural parade. Keynote speakers include Gen. Colin Powell and former Vice President Al Gore.
