Elaine Durr, Elon University’s sustainability coordinator, was one of several experts quoted in a Jan. 29 story by the Missourian newspaper on Building Dashboard, a computer program used to monitor energy consumption in campus facilities.
“Energy use monitoring program to be installed in residence halls” by reporter Jason Lenhart examined the details of the system, which is already in use at Elon. The Missourian is a Midwest news organization operated through the Missouri School of Journalism.

“The program really helps promote our energy competition,” said Elaine Durr, sustainability coordinator at Elon University … “Some people may not understand kilowatt hours, but pounds of coal and hamburgers consumed are things people can really relate to.”
