George J. Kilroy ’73 gift supports new athletics field house

George J. Kilroy ’73, a businessman from Towson, Md., has made a $50,000 gift commitment to support construction of the new athletics field house planned for the north campus area.

Kilroy played basketball at Elon and has been a dedicated Phoenix Club donor through the years. He understands the importance of excellent facilities in helping Elon recruit top student athletes.

The new facility will provide consolidated spaces for the football, soccer, baseball, track and field, and cross country programs, and an office suite for athletics administration, now housed in Koury Center. It also will include conference and meeting spaces, a weight room, a student athlete lounge and an outdoor plaza overlooking Rhodes Stadium.

Kilroy’s generous gift is part of the $100 million Ever Elon Campaign. For more information on the campaign, click on the link to the right. You also can see a rendering of the new field house.
