Elon Law to host Open House for prospective students – March 14

Elon University School of Law will host an Admissions Open House from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, Saturday, March 14 at the H. Michael Weaver building, home of the law school in downtown Greensboro, N.C., with a continental breakfast available at 9:30 a.m.

This event will give prospective students the opportunity to meet our students, faculty, deans and staff; attend a mock law class; tour the facilities; and learn more about our admissions process. Elon Law is accepting applications for Fall 2009, with substantial scholarships available, and welcomes applicants and those considering law school to attend this event.

From 1 to 3 p.m., students admitted to the fall 2009 entering class are invited to learn more about the law school’s academic program, career services, financial aid, student organizations, housing and other student services.

If you plan to attend the March 14 Open House, please RSVP by Thursday, March 12. You may RSVP by e-mail at lawreservations@elon.edu or by phone at (336) 279-9275. Please specify that you will attend the March 14 Open House and indicate the number of people attending and their names.

This is an exciting time for Elon Law in a variety of respects. George R. Johnson Jr., a distinguished lawyer with more than 30 years of experience in government service and education, was named the second dean of the law school in February. In addition, the school’s moot court teams recently won two Best Brief awards and achieved two Second Place finishes in national competitions, and the students who are creating the Elon Law Review are nearing publication of a special edition reflecting results of their successful symposium on the death penalty.

Students at Elon Law continue to be active in serving public interests as well, with activities including advisement at a regional housing summit, a partnership to provide free tax assistance to low income residents, and an upcoming forum hosted by the Elon University Innocence Project®.
