Taylor Barr ’07, David Parson ’06 produce YouTube video to win Ford Fiesta

Check out the YouTube video from Taylor Barr ’07 and David Parson ’06 as they compete to win a Ford Fiesta. Ford Motor Co. is giving away 100 Fiestas as part of its new social media movement called “The Fiesta Movement.”

According to Barr, here is Ford’s pitch: “We currently are looking for video influencers to participate in the Ford Fiesta Movement program that gives 100 Ford Fiestas (2010) to 100 social networking savvy drivers for 6 months (including free gas, insurance and concierge) from April to November 2009.”

Says Barr, “We want to drive a Ford Fiesta for six months. No, but seriously, we feel that as more corporations use social media tactics in their PR and marketing departments, it will bring much more validity to the industry. We want to set the bar and show companies that using social media and video can actually increase awareness and brand equity.

“Ford will pick the best videos uploaded to YouTube,” Barr says. “Part of their decision is based off of YouTube view counts. So watch and pass it on!”

Barr asked users of blogs and Twitter to help promote the video and invited all alumni to join their Facebook group. Click on the links to the right to view their video and join their Facebook group.

“Thanks for all of your support,” Barr says. “With your help, we believe we can be driving an ugly orange Ford Fiesta!”
