OutLaw to host film screening and discussion of same-gender marriage – March 12

On Thursday, March 12, OutLaw, a student organization at Elon Law, will screen "Tying the Knot," a documentary about same-gender marriage, followed by a discussion led by Greensboro family law attorney Rebecca Perry.

The event begins at at 3.30 p.m. in room 204 at Elon University School of Law in Greensboro.

Justin R. Ervin, the founding president of OutLaw at Elon, said, “Last year’s passage of Proposition 8 in California and the recent introduction of a constitutional amendment in the North Carolina legislature have ensured that same-gender marriage will remain on the nation’s radar.  We hope this event will heighten the level of engagement about this important issue in our varied communities.”

OutLaw is a social and educational organization that fosters a supportive and accepting environment for LGBT students, faculty, staff, and professionals at Elon University School of Law and in the greater legal community.
