Bill Webb, assistant professor of theatre, presented on Elon's performing arts production of "The Phantom of the Opera" at the Southeastern Theater Conference in Birmingham, Ala., on March 9. His presentation, titled "The Tech of Phantom" was an evaluation and discussion of the technical process of the production.
In addition, Elon’s production of “The Phantom of the Opera” will be archived by the United States Institute of Theatrical Technologies Southeastern Region. A selection of slides submitted to the United Stage Institute of Theatrical Technologies Southeastern Region has been unanimously approved for inclusion in the institute’s archives. Webb, who submitted the slides, was notified of the historic productions inclusion while attending USITT’s national conference in Cincinnati, Ohio, March 16-21. While at the conference, Webb also participated in an exhibit of theatrical design solutions titled “Cover The Walls.” Webb used this opportunity to display images, draftings and research relating to the technical direction for “The Phantom of the Opera.”
