Faculty and students from the Elon Biology Department attended the annual meeting of the North Carolina Academy of Science at Warren Wilson College in Asheville, N.C. on April 3-4. Faculty members Yuko Miyamoto, Michael Kingston, Jeffrey Coker and Linda Niedziela accompanied students Brian Beaty, Daniel Brown and Philip Zakas. The students presented their undergraduate research during the two day meeting.
Brian Beaty (mentor – Dr. Miyamoto) won first place honors in the poster session.
Daniel Brown (mentor – Dr. Niedziela) took second place in the behavioral biology, psychology, anthropology and physics oral presentation section.
Philip Zakas (mentor – Dr. Niedziela) presented in the environmental science section.
