George Johnson, dean of the Elon University School of Law, spoke with News 14 Carolina news anchor Tracey Early on May 7 about the U.S. Supreme Court and what criteria President Barack Obama may consider when selecting a replacement for Associate Justice David Souter, who announced this month plans to retire at the end of the Court's current term.

Students in a Childhood and Human Services course worked this spring semester with two local nonprofits to create programs and activities that will carry on long after they leave the classroom.

Professor Michael W. Lewis, a leading authority on national security and the law of war, appeared at the Elon University School of Law on April 23 for a discussion with Elon Law Professor Victor Streib, entitled "9/11 Revisited, An Act of War or An Act of Organized Crime." The event was sponsored by the Elon Law chapter of the Federalist Society.

The School of Education presented its annual awards May 1, with Paul Miller, professor of exercise science, receiving top honors for Excellence in Teaching and Bill Andrews, assistant professor of physical therapy education, receiving the Excellence in Service award.
