Enabling additional students with limited financial resources to immerse themselves in new cultures inspired the Jones family of Raleigh, N.C., to make a $25,000 endowment gift to the Ever Elon Campaign.
The gift, which was made through the Seby B. Jones Family Foundation, will endow the Jones Family Scholarship for International Study. Funds from the endowment will assist students with financial need who are pursuing study abroad opportunities.
James R. Jones and his wife, Julie, are the parents of Scott, who graduated from Elon in May. The family foundation is named for Jim’s father.
Increasing scholarship support for study abroad and other engaged learning opportunities is one of the goals of the $100 million Ever Elon Campaign, which seeks to build the endowment, increase annual and planned gifts, and build and preserve the campus.
