In the July 24 edition of the Triad Business Journal, Andy Haile, Assistant Professor at Elon University School of Law, cautions against the N.C. General Assembly's tax compromise to finalize the state budget. After the article went to press, Governor Perdue threatened to veto the tax plan.

Appearing on News 14 Carolina, Fox 8 WGHP, WFMY News 2, and WFDD radio, members of the faculty of Elon University School of Law recently provided analysis and evaluation of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee's hearings on Supreme Court nominee Sonya Sotomayor.

At the 62nd Annual Meeting of the Southeastern Association of Law Schools (SEALS), held in August, seven members of Elon Law's faculty presented on subjects ranging from the 100-year anniversary of the NAACP and its impact on law and society, to teaching methods designed to improve the education of law students.

Andi Cochran wanted to spend her final months before college investing in a worthwhile project, so when the incoming Elon University freshman used her high school graduation money to buy toys for patients at Duke Children’s Hospital, she knew her actions represented more than a gift – they were a “thank you” to an institution that touched her own life.

Twelve members of the Class of 2012 have been selected as Elon University School of Law's first Leadership Fellows. The fellows were chosen for having demonstrated exceptional leadership in community, collegiate, military, or other service, and for expressing interest in further study of leadership in relation to the law.
