Representing 147 law schools throughout the United States, student participants will receive a $1,000 AmeriCorps educational voucher upon the completion of 300 hours of service at a nonprofit public-interest organization.

Jamie Duncan will be working with the Office of the Public Defender in Mecklenburg County and Grant Scheuring will be with Office of the Public Defender in Wake County.

The Equal Justice Works Summer Corps program is an AmeriCorps funded program that engages law students around the country to provide legal services to those who need it most.

Summer Corps members provide critically needed legal assistance in low-income and underserved communities in the United States on a broad range of issue areas.
