Larry Vellani, director of corporate and foundation relations, is serving as a United Way loaned executive during this fall’s United Way drive in Alamance County.
As a loaned executive, Larry lends his expertise and energy to help United Way expand solicitation efforts, reach new markets and broaden the base of community giving. Larry makes presentations on behalf of the campaign to the employees of participating local businesses. At each event, Larry is teamed with a representative of a local recipient United Way agency who speaks about that organization’s specific services. So far in the campaign, Larry has made presentations to Century-Tel, Duke Energy and Performa, Inc. Loaned executives often make presentations at five or more businesses during the campaign.
Later this fall, the university will launch its United Way fund drive among university faculty and staff. Through their gifts, Elon University employees have made Elon one of the United Way’s most important local contributing organizations.
Cindy Brady, the United Way of Alamance County’s executive director, is a 1996 graduate of Elon University.
